Danantara Outlines More Than 40 Strategic Industrial Projects, Targeting USD 20–30 Billion in Investment

Indonesia is expanding its strategic industrial investment pipeline as Danantara Indonesia outlines plans to develop more than 40 projects across energy, manufacturing, advanced materials, healthcare, and digital infrastructure.

During the Danantara Technology Innovation Investment Forum (DTIIF) 2026 in Jakarta on 26 October, Danantara presented an investment ambition of USD 20–30 billion over the next two to three years.

The announcement highlights Indonesia’s increasing focus on industrial transformation, technological capabilities, and investment in higher-value manufacturing.

Strategic Industrial Project Pipeline

Danantara’s Chief Technology Officer, Sigit Puji Santosa, outlined a portfolio of more than 40 strategic industrial projects under consideration for development over the next five years.

Several projects are currently undergoing feasibility studies and may progress to Front-End Engineering Design (FEED).

The investment portfolio covers multiple sectors, including:

  • Renewable energy and supporting infrastructure
  • Advanced materials and mineral processing
  • Semiconductor manufacturing
  • Digital infrastructure and data centres
  • Pharmaceuticals and healthcare technologies
  • Transportation and industrial infrastructure
  • Machinery, electronics, and other manufacturing industries

These projects form part of Indonesia’s broader strategy to strengthen domestic industrial capabilities and move towards higher-value production.

Technology and Investment Partnerships

Danantara has emphasised the importance of connecting strategic projects with advanced technologies, international expertise, and long-term capital.

The organisation has indicated that partnerships with private companies, universities, and research institutions will be important in developing new industrial capabilities.

According to Danantara’s official announcement, DTIIF 2026 was designed to facilitate discussions, project showcases, and business meetings between investors, technology providers, state-owned enterprises, and industrial stakeholders.

The forum also includes discussions covering energy, healthcare, advanced materials, infrastructure, and digital technologies.

Potential Business Opportunities

The development of Indonesia’s strategic industrial pipeline could generate demand across several technology and service segments.

Potential opportunities include:

  • Industrial automation and process engineering
  • Advanced manufacturing technologies
  • Renewable energy and energy efficiency
  • Electrical infrastructure and power management
  • Semiconductor-related technologies
  • Pharmaceutical production equipment
  • Industrial testing and certification
  • Engineering consultancy and project development
  • Research and technology partnerships

International companies may explore possible collaboration through project developers, industrial operators, engineering contractors, and strategic investment partnerships.

However, commercial participation will depend on individual project requirements and future procurement arrangements.

Commercial Outlook

Danantara’s investment ambitions indicate potential long-term demand for advanced industrial technologies and specialized expertise.

The announced USD 20–30 billion represents a target rather than confirmed investment commitments.

Similarly, the portfolio of more than 40 projects should not be interpreted as a list of open tenders.

Specific project locations, procurement schedules, investment structures, and supplier requirements have not been fully disclosed.

Companies interested in exploring potential opportunities shouldw monitor project development milestones and engage with relevant project owners as individual initiatives progress towards implementation.
